Schedule everything. You’ll not only be reminded of what really needs to be done,  you’ll see where all your time is going!

Write a Life Plan. Michael Hyatt and Daniel Harkavy put together a fabulous (short!) life-planning tool to prevent the busiest of us from ‘drifting’ in the tyrannical sea of the urgent. What’s most helpful about this book? It helps you pull out your dreams and put them on paper.

Keep a handwritten to-do list. Somehow our brain makes a little promise to itself when we write down what needs to be done.

Write in the a.m. Ask most writers and they’ll say there’s nothing like fresh ink in the morning. If you’re a night owl already, then nightwriting may be your niche, but if you’re just starting out, take it from the pros and write – right after breakfast.

Do the hardest part first. Whatever it is, tackle the ‘alpha’ first and you’ll get the whole army. This practice also makes you more courageous each time you engage in the arduous before the easy!

K.I.S.S. The kiss method works because it shaves seconds off numerous tasks, adding up to hours of more time in the long run. Practice cutting down your words in both emails and comment responses to give yourself more time to write fresh content.

Turn off your phone. This might be the most important hack for every major task!

Keep the 2-minute rule. If anything on the to-do list can be done in less than 2 minutes, do it now. Don’t wait!

Pod-cast chores. If you’ve got manual things to to around the house or office, use this time to study. Turn on your favorite pod-cast, book, or lecture, and get in hours of learning in just a month!

Ride the bus! With free WiFi, heating and AC, it’s like having a driver (and a few new friends) within a mobile office. Add hours to your reading or work time while getting where you want to go.

Play. Last but definitely not least, even as adults (and maybe even more!) we need playtime. Your body and mind need a break. Schedule your hours, but try to leave as much as 1/3 of the day open for surprises, downtime, and play!
